Universal Direct Repair Program (UDRP)
Our body and paint shop, Studio Auto Body Corp , is part of the exclusive Universal Direct Repair Program (UDRP) network. We will file your accident claim with your auto insurance (Universal Insurance) and begin the repair process immediately.
How does Universal Direct Repair Program (UDRP) work?
The Universal Direct Repair Program (DRP), commonly known in the insurance industry as the Direct Repair Program, is a strategic alliance between an insurance company and a selected network of body and collision repair shops.
-
Accident occurrence: The insured suffers a collision and notifies their insurance company of the incident to open a case.
-
Workshop recommendation: The insurer offers the customer the option of sending the car to one of the certified workshops in its "Direct Repair" network.
-
Simplified inspection: Instead of waiting days for an insurance adjuster or surveyor to visit the workshop to assess the damage, the network workshop itself performs the digital inspection and sends the photos and estimates directly through integrated platforms.
-
Immediate approval: Because they are connected to the same system, the insurance company approves the estimate almost automatically. The repair shop can begin work immediately.
-
Direct billing: The insurer pays the repair cost directly to the repair shop. The customer only needs to pay the deductible stipulated in their policy (if applicable).
Benefits for the insured
-
Convenience: It saves you time and unnecessary visits.
-
Warranty: Certified workshops meet high quality standards.
-
Express service: In cases where the safety of the vehicle is not compromised, it allows the claim to be processed and paid quickly.
Key points to consider
-
Not mandatory: By law, insurance companies cannot force you to use their contracted repair shops. You have the legal right to choose the repair shop of your choice.
-
Cost control: Workshops within the program accept discounted labor rates and specific guidelines on the use of parts (which may include generic or non-original parts) in exchange for receiving a steady flow of customers referred by the insurer.
